    Greetings isatonline !

Are you transfering email address to another Outlook Express client, or doing something else with it?  If using a translation software, the file could be corrupted.

If transfering from OE address book to OE address book, the .WAB file could be corrected.  Make sure you have a working WAB file. Then copy the WAB file to new computer. Make sure it is not write protected.

I am transferring from straight outlook to outlook. The versions are the same. All I did was export it as a CSV file and then use the import function on the new machine.

Can I just find the WAB file instead of going through all of the import and export options?

    Accepted Solution

CSV conversion must have corrupted the address book. Yes, it would better to copy the WAB file.  WAB is located in one of these locations:

    C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Identities\
    C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook Express\
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook Express\
    C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book\

It may be a hidden file, so you have to unhide hidden files.  Open Windows Explorer folder and select Tools > Folders Options > View. Check "Show hidden files and folders". Click OK.
