how to add a file or directory or subdirectory to an existing revision or the last revision of a certain repository in subversion

hi all,
I'm new to subversion and I need to know an answer for that case
1. I created a repository
2. I used the svn import to add a directory to it
3. i used the svn co command to have a working copy
4. I started the work

Now if it happens that I added a new file in existing directory or added new directory full of files
how can I add them to the repository ?
and if it's added successfully to wcich revision it will be added?
and does their a single command in svn that make the adding and the commiting in one step (tortoisesvn do that)?
does there is a gui tool for subversion that works on linux?
please help me as soon as possible
best Regards

    Accepted Solution

issue svn add <dir> in a directory already known to svn
that'll add the dir _and_ it's contents

once you do svn commit, the changes are sent back into the repository
