1. eclipse closed  unexpectedly and some time show out of memory error (I have 1 GB memory on the laptop box fedora6)

3. the version 3.2 is supporting drivers (jdbc driver) for mysql up to version 4.0. how can I add driver in the setting for version 5.00 or later
4. I need a tutorial, links articles  for a creat,update, delete and list records   web application  using jsp and servlets and data connection layer using mysql and J/connector 5 or later using eclipse

can you please help me in that any help, note, idea, link, tutoria, is very appriciatable

1. Get increase the memory you can creta a shortcut of eclipse.exe and modify the target something like this.
C:\dev\eclipse\eclipse.exe C:\j2sdk1.4.2_13\jre\bin\javaw -vmargs -Xmx256M - 256M is the memory you like to allocate.

2. You can modify the server.xml tag as follows so that your application runs on port 80
<!-- Define a non-SSL Coyote HTTP/1.1 Connector on port 8080 -->
    <Connector className="org.apache.coyote.tomcat4.CoyoteConnector"
               port="80" enableLookups="true" redirectPort="8443"
               acceptCount="100" connectionTimeout="20000"
               useURIValidationHack="false" disableUploadTimeout="true" />

3. Simply download the latest driver and Go into Eclipse, Package Explorer, Add external .Jar's, and add your JDBC driver.

4. You can go through these links for this
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-webdata/
http://www.roseindia.net/jdbc/jdbc-mysql/

Hope this solve your problems

hi ashwanilabs,
thanks for reply

>>>1. Get increase the memory you can creta a shortcut of eclipse.exe and modify >>>the target something like this.
>>>C:\dev\eclipse\eclipse.exe C:\j2sdk1.4.2_13\jre\bin\javaw -vmargs ->>>Xmx256M - 256M is the memory you like to allocate.

I'm using fedora core 6 so would you please give me the syntax on linux since I'm newbie

>>>2. You can modify the server.xml tag as follows so that your application runs >>>on port 80
>>><!-- Define a non-SSL Coyote HTTP/1.1 Connector on port 8080 -->
>>><Connector className="org.apache.coyote.tomcat4.CoyoteConnector"
>>>         port="80" enableLookups="true" redirectPort="8443"
>>>         acceptCount="100" connectionTimeout="20000"
>>>         useURIValidationHack="false" disableUploadTimeout="true" />

I tried something like that before from eclipse but it didn't work so does there is a way to detect the process id of the lost process  that is engaging the port 8080 and kill it so that I can resume work without restarting the machine

>>>3. Simply download the latest driver and Go into Eclipse, Package Explorer, >>>Add external .Jar's, and add your JDBC driver.

to which folder I must  add external jar? could you please give me a detailed how to since I tryed it before from eclipse (import) but it didn't work
