Adding Phone Field To Outlook Distribution List

Is there a way to add a 3rd column to an Outlook Distribution list?  Basically, we would like to add the "Phone" column to the main list view of a distribution list.  I have tried to modify the form, but it will not allow the "field chooser" for the main list.

As seen in Outlook.

Do you mean the Global Address List or Contacts? In Contacts it works but the Global seems to have a fixed format on the column.

I am not certain if it is the Global Address List.  If I am in Outlook, I can click on "New" and create a new Distribution List.  It is this window that we are hoping to get the phone number column added to.  We are using Outlook 2003.

The probable reason it is not possible to add a phone number is because the distribution list is for sending email, not phoneing. You can always double-click an entry in the distribution list and open up the complete contact window with all information available such as phone numbers and notes.

I know this is an old request, but if anyone does know how you can add the phone tab to the properties for the distribution list in AD that would really help me.  We have a fax to email server that uses DID lines to set up direct fax lines based on the fax field in the user phone tabs in AD.  If I could just have that tab in an email-enable distribution group, that would be great.

There is actually a way to do this.  I know this is an old post, but this is good information.  Open ADSI Edit on a DC, go into the Distribuition List in question, and find the Telephone field, add the number you want displayed in Outlook there and that is all you need to do.  Hope this helps.
