Looking for Gateway MT6705 XP SATA Drivers

Upgrading a Gateway MT6705 Laptop from Vista to XP Professional.  Looking for SATA drivers I can feed XP during the initial install

    You are correct that the SATA drivers for windows can be found at the link above.  Unfortunately, the drivers you reference are for after you have installed windows and need to update the unknown hard drive controller.  I was looking for the drivers to feed XP during the install.  A couple of hours after posting my question I found the packaged drivers at HP

    that enabled me to install windows.  Then I was able to install the gateway drivers.

    What's sad is the number of units being released today without XP or earlier drivers.  But, then that's part of the fun!

    Fair enough.  Usually you can crack open one of the CAB files in the installer and find the ini or sys file required.
