MacBook Pro/Office 2004 install gone bad

I have a new MacBook Pro and on it came Office Test Drive.  I uninstalled that, rebooted and installed the Office 2004 version we own on a VLA.  I then rebooted.

When we click on the Office icons, it flashes and then goes away.  None of the office products will load now.  We just get the flash of the icon and nothing...

any ideas?

I am guessing the MS Office files in your Preferences, Documents etc folders are still there... did you do a COMPLETE purge of the Test Office, using the Remove Office tool??
