I have installed a WSUS server 3.0 on Windows 2003 server. I have been approving updated that were not automatically approved. Just wanted to find out the effect of installing Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and 3.0 on my other servers (Win2k and Win2k3). I have approved it for the server running Exchange 2007 but not sure about the effect on the other servers.

what do you mean with "effect"? There shouldn't be any side "effect" of installing the .NET Framework to your server machines. Just a bunch of assemblies are copied to the separate .NET Framework folder along with few registry entries that enables the .NET applications to use the correct framework versions when running.
As more and more applications are made using the .NET, installation of the framework is therefore recommended.
