Is it possible in vbscript to edit Excel 2003 toolbar settings ?

When I capture with Wise the addition of an add-in via Excel,  a toolbar is added and the following files are added  to the msi file.
Windows\Profiles\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\excel11.xlb
Windows\Profiles\Application Data\Microsoft\Forms\MSComctlLib.exd
Windows\Profiles\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Excel11.pip
Windows\Profiles\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\VB11.pip

Is it possible to edit these files instead of replacing them on the destination system.   I want to avoid replacing settings that the user customised on his/or her system.

You cannot edit these files directly as they are binary files containing data serialised by Excel itself.

If you want to avoid replacing these files, you could run a custom action in your MSI to copy the existing files to some temporary directory, then copy them back at the end of the install.
