I installed Novell LDAP Activex on my testing W2K3 server and it worked fine with my asp code. When I tried to do the same on my production(W2K3), I couldn't register the LDAP ActiveX. I tried to remove LDAP ActiveX from add/remove problem, it is not responding.

Any suggestions will be truely appreciated!

Do you have any error messages - anything posted in any log files or in the system or application event log?

Are both servers on the same rev of Server 2003 (R1 or R2) and on the same SP level?

When you tried the install, were you logged in as a user with local Administrators permissions?  Or did you run-as the local Administrator account?

Are both the testing server and the production server configured for the same server role? (web, file/print, etc. - not AD roles like DC, GC, etc.)

I didn't see any error in the log file.
When I installed, I logged in as local administrator on both server.
Both two servers are configured as web server with W2K3 on it.

Are they both at the same Service Pack level?  Are they both R1 or R2 or is one R1 and the other R2?  How about security patches and hotfixes - are they both patched current, either through the Microsoft update site or through WSUS?

ActiveX controls not being allowed to register sound like either a permissions issue or a security hotfix or security setting issue.  Server 2003 R2 SP2 is much tighter on application install security than was Server 2003 R1.

Further, a production Web server may have been "hardened."  Do you have a network admin or a network security guy or consultant that could tell you if the production server has been "hardened" and what it would take to get the ActiveX controls installed?
