I'm having trouble designing tables in Dreamweaver CS3. Whenever I add content to any cell, that entire column will expand, even if the content did not fill up the whole width of the cell. Does anyone know how I can prevent my columns from expanding whenever I add content to it?

Maybe just set a width on that column or on the table.

Is it also a problem when you show the table in a browser? If so, please post the code of the table.

As _Marcel_ says, you can just add a width declaration to all of the cells in the column.

However, your design results will be uneven at best.  You really should think about not using tables for layout and instead use CSS.  You gain much more control over things...

I figured out how to do it. Click anywhere in the table to show the header menu for the table. Left click the numerical figure for the entire table width and select Make All Widths Current" (if you cannot bring up the table header, rigth-click anywhere in the table, go to "Tables," and make sure there is a check next to "Table Widths").
