How to embedd Hyperlinks in Rich Text emails in Lotus Notes generated by VBA

Recently I received some great code to help me to build Rich Text using VBA to generate Lotus notes emails.

Is there a way I can use the similar code to embed hyperlinks in this email.

Just a further bit of information.  I have a rich text style object and a Rich Text Item object.

I am trying the code below which isn't making the text into HTML. Rather is just shows up as text (ie "<a href=""www.test.com"">test</a>" and not a hyperlink).

objTextStyle.PassThruHTML = True
objBody.AppendStyle objTextStyle
objBody.AppendText "<a href=""www.test.com"">test</a>"

WIll you be able to have the client open? IN that case, you can take direct control of the client and import HTML.  Just make all your content into HTML and  either place it in the clipboard or dump it to a disk file.

Without the client open, you can do this with DXL (Domino XML representation), or you can create a design element that will allow you to create a temporary link message that then gets added permanently to the main message.

wow - going a bit out of my depth here with Lotus notes.

I have found if I put http:// at the beginning of the text it becomes a hyperlink. Probably have to use this workaround for now.

Thanks

Yup, but you won't be able to put in your own link text, you'll have to allow the link itself to be the link text.

Also, I don't think this is really a function of Notes.  Your e-Mail client is just naturally predisposed to turning anything that looks like a link into an actual link.

am not sure abt VBA, but since R6.0 you can use notesmimeentity classes and send HTML emails. There are lot of samples, one is here:
Change the first line to your email address

sendto$ = "myself@someisp.com"
     subject$ = "Notes 6 MIME"
     htmltext$ = {<font size=2 face="sans serif">This is an <b>HTML</b> message.</font>}

     Dim session As New NotesSession

     Dim html As NotesStream
     Set html = session.CreateStream
     html.WriteText htmltext$

     Dim doc As New NotesDocument(session.CurrentDatabase)

     Dim mime As NotesMIMEEntity
     Set mime = doc.CreateMIMEEntity("Body")
     mime.SetContentFromText html, "text/html", ENC_NONE

     doc.Subject = subject$
     doc.Send False, sendto$

Hi Guys...

I am sending mail messages with formated with HTML using Mime. I would like to know if email clients out there will interpret the html properly. Are there any known complications with using Mime to send out HTML emails ?
