Foundry Serveriron XL console problem

I am having trouble with getting into Serveriron console. I used null modem serial cable to connect the unit but I don't see anything in hyper Terminal.

Does Foundry device need speical console cable? Also, how can I reset factory default seeting? I saw the reset button on front side of unit. I tried to push it for 30sec but still can't get into console.

I googled it this matter. It seems quite a lot of people having this issue. I am using one of HP switch DB9 female/female serial cable. That cable is working fine with HP switches.

Also, I followed the instruction for terminal setting (9600-8-N-1).

Foundry uses a EIA/TIA straight-through DB-9 (F/F)serial cable.  I can give you the pin out if needed.

    Hyperterminal config is:
    9600 bps

How can I know what cable is straight-through or not? Is there anyway to check it?

I would call Foundry and tell them you need a console cable.  Foundry did not ship cables with their stuff for a wile.  I looked at my cables and did not see any markings as to what kind it is.  Most switch manufactures have their own cables.  HP, Cisco, Allied Telesyn, and Foundry use different cables.  Im sure other manufactures use there own cables as well.  But most likely you will need to get one from Foundry or order the cable I stated above.
