Embedded Flash files - playback controls

I need to display some movies on a CD. I've converted them from .vob files on the DVDs to Flash .swf files. They play fine when I embed them, but I want the user to be able to control the playback so that it does not start automatically and can be paused etc. as necessary. This needs to fairly idiot-proof, so the 'menu=true' isn't much help as all the viewer is presented with is a black box.

I'm looking for something like the YouTube video player as this seems to work with different browsers and operating systems. Is something like this available anywhere for download? Maybe some JavaScript? Or Do I need to try and work out how to edit the swf file and add the controls into the movie itself?

well, first I would tuen your video files into Flash Video files (.FLV)

then I would just look into either a 3rd party video component like the ones listed below, or I would do some research on the NetConnection and NetStream classes and just build your own.

$10 is near enough to free and it looks like it'll do the trick. Thanks :-)
