Syncing Yahoo! Address & Calendar

I get a message on my Palm Treo 700wx with Verizon service that Yahoo! has no plans to support Yahoo!Go 2.0 for this device and service plan.

1. Are there other versions of Yahoo!Go?

2. Assuming Yahoo!Go is not available, how do I best get my calendar, and address book without going through Internet Explorer? ( I am now able to get mail with Verizon Wireless Sync.)

If I enter the Yahoo! Address Book and click the Sync tab, I see a message that says that AutoSync is coming soon.  If I click the AutoSync logo I'm directed to the Nokia Intellisync site.

3. If I don't want to wait for Yahoo!AutoSync and chose to purchase Nokia Intellisync now, will I still need Outlook?

4. Will Intellisync (or AutoSync) allow me to sync wirelessly in the field, or only when connected to my desktop?

5.  If desktop only, do I need ActiveSync for anything?  Should I uninstall ActiveSync with or without Intellisync?

6. If I install Intellisync, should I uninstall Verizon Wireless Sync?

7. Any other suggestions?  At this point, I think my only alternative is to save my address book to a .csv file, bring that into Outlook, then either use Activesync or Verizon Wireless Sync to get it on the PDA.  Is this what I have to do??

According to the Info it is coming to other windows mobile devices (Which is what you have) if they had a java version then you could load that also.

Perhaps you can wait until it comes out.

Try this

Thanks Mikal613.

Where on a Windows device will I find the Applications folder?  I can't find the Y!Go icon.  See instruction below:

Click on the Y! Go icon on your phone to launch the application
On most mobile phones, you should be able to find the Y! Go icon/application in the Applications folder on your mobile device. If youre having trouble, check your phone manual to find out where software downloads are put.

Mikal613.  Thanks, but that (desktop) Yahoo!Go download page has been up for some time.  It's very frustrating 'cause it doesn't work despite their claims to the contrary.

There's no Yahoo! logo anwhere on my device in Start\Programs\, or any recognizable Yahoo! files in \Program Files\  or \Applications\Data\.

If I go to the (mobile) download site from IE on my Treo, I still get a message saying that Yahoo! has no plans to support Yahoo!Go 2.0 for this device and service plan.  The folks at Verizon Wireless support believe that Yahoo! planned to release Go! in June, then didn't.

Will appreciate any insights to questions 2-7 above.  Many thanks.

Hmm.  Interesting.  This is new to me, but I'll try it.

Not sure what to put in my search string, other than maybe "go".  Any ideas??

I'm away from my home computer.  Will plan to try tonight.

NOt saying you can search on the "Mobile DEvice" But you can look at the strcuture easilly. Another way would be to extract the contents of the cab and copying the files manually.

I remember encountering some info about the .cab file, maybe on the Yahoo! download page.  I'll try to dig it up.

I found the following instruction:

What do I need to download and install Yahoo! Go?
You will need: at least 1MB free memory on your mobile phone, mobile Internet (WAP) settings, and a wireless data plan. A Yahoo! ID is also recommended to get the most from Yahoo Go.

I have more than enough memory.  What are WAP settings, and where do I check that this is right on my device?

Oh My God!

After 2 months and 3 posted questions, it finally worked.  Thanks for your persistance.  Only when you refused to give up on Y!Go, I percevered along with you.

You percevered even after Yahoo! and Verizon both said it wasn't available.  You were right and they were wrong.

Amazing!
