PHP XAJAX versus Lightbox JS

I could not find any fixes except on a russian bulletin board (I don't speak russian btw).

I am cutting and pasting this into a xajax page that will draw the images. And it outputs everything correctly.
But the images are not envoking lightbox, instead they are just going to the image directly.

// HEADER
<script type="text/javascript" src="../_js/prototype.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="../_js/scriptaculous.js?load=effects"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="../_js/lightbox.js"></script>

// BODY
<a href="image.jpg" rel="lightbox[butter]">    <img src="image.jpg" width = "120" height ="77" /></a>

I was thinking that the images are registered with lightbox on load and not on event.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Babel fish won't translate. Taking a second look at the page I am not sure what language it is in.

Couldn't get it to so I am using greybox instead since it has built in onclick commands rather than relying on a rels.

Thanks for your input.
