Sony tape library problems

I am using a windows 2000 server, SP4, attached to it I have a sony tape library, lib162.

If I look in removal storage (windows) I see the library, the drive and the media.

Using backup exec, the lib-162 is offline, however this library has been attached to this server in excess of a year and has worked.

I am getting the following error. Any ideas?

See if you can reinstall the drivers for the tape library in windows 2000. Then reinstall it as a device in backup exec.

The error is reporting a problem with the controller driver.
Try power cycle both devices. Power down the server, then the library, power up the library wait for it to finish initializing, then power up the server.

I have done both suggestions, plus loaded new (updated) drivers for the scsi controller. Now the tape library shows in removable storage (windows), but the library will not show up in the Backup exec device window. The tape drive is showing as a standalone tape drive. I am no longer getting the original error about the nonexistant service, scsi miniport.

Disable Removable Storage Manager service in the windows services applet
Load the MS drivers for the medium changer if using the OEM drivers
the Medium Changer should appear as UNKNOWN MEDIUM CHANGER in the Device Manager.
download and install the latest driver package from our website (for yr version of Backup Exec)
Shut down the server
Power cycle the lib
and restart the server once the library has finished INIT

Check for non-plug and play drivers in the Device Manager (View>Show hidden devices) to make sure that the SCSICHANGER is running properly
