When you deleted the printer did you uninstall the driver? Or when you reinstalled it where you prompted to (Keep existing dirver) Or load a new driver?  It sounds like you either are loading the wrong driver or the existing driver is corrupt.

Sounds like a driver issue to me as well. You may want to go out to the internet and go to Brothers web site to find the latest device driver for your operating system for that model. And like zoofan said, load a new driver and not keep the existing one.

I agree compleyely, but just out of curiosity if that doesn't help, can you tell us what operating system you are running, and what program you are trying to print from?   Sometimes incompatibility issues are the cause of these problems, and I've seen cases where brother printers can't print from selected programs (like Adobe reader, for example).

While doing some surfing, I also found a forum where a gentleman had a similar problem.  He tried all the driver suggestions and it ended up being the printer cable.  Just food for thought.

Does this happen with any printout from the internet, or perhaps just with document files, like PDF's?  I remember Adobe Reader 5.0 had an issue that didn't allow printing from the browser print function...it would just print gibberish unless you went into the print setup options and printed it as an image.  Otherwise you could print it from the acrobat toolbar and it would print fine.

If that's not the case, and it prints all webpages the same way...then do me a favor.   Cut and paste part of a page into a text document (Wordpad, MS Word, etc.) and then try to print it from there and let us know what happened.  That will tell us if we're dealing with a Windows issue, or a browser issue, and we can work from there.
