While using Firefox I get the message "Cannot use Adobe to view PDF in your web browser."  How do I resolve this issue.

Thanks!

Is Adobe installed?

Ah Ha!  Without realizing it you have directed me to the resolution.  I use professional 7.0 and your question caused me to verify the installation and in looking at the control panel have found there are multiple copies installed i.e. Reader and the Pro 7.0 version.  I have uninstalled all but the pro version and all works just fine.  Don't you just love programs that auto install software.  I need to find the critter that did it and chastise it.
Thanks for directing me to finding the solution.  Only one copy of Adobe Acrobat should be installed at one time.  So do I give you points for asking a question that allowed me to find the resolution?

Hummm, is this a positive or negative comment?  Seems a little negative. If so how did you help me out?  Please tell me and I will make sure you get your 500 points for such a great effort.

mabarnes11,

I do not want your points.  I want you to realize there are NO mind readers in the world.

No where in your question did you ever mention even having Adobe Reader or any adobe products installed. You didn't mention what operating system you had, you didn't mention trying anything at all.  When you start to ask a question for help, please consider what type of information others might actually need in order to help you out.   You didn't even answer my question, but, at the same time, it was My Question that made you look at your system, which in turn helped you find a fix.  How can you assume I wouldn't have told you to only have One Adobe product running?  I had to ask if you had Any Adobe installed because you never even mentioned it.   Do  I deserve 500 points?  No, and I certainly wouldn't deserve an A either, but if I didn't ask you that question, would you have seen other Adobe programs installed?  Would you have done a Google search to see why you couldn't open a pdf file in Firefox?  Who knows?  I wouldn't assume to even guess what you would do.

Please don't take this as a turnoff from Experts-Exchange. There are a LOT of great people here that can help.  You just caught me at the wrong time.  Please do not reopen this. I do not want your points.  Maybe this page will help you more then my ramblings.

Thank you for your candid reply.  One things you "Masters" might overlook occasionally is there are those of us who pay to have this service and we do not know what you know about systems.  If we did why would we pay the price we do for maybe three or four questions a year?
There are those of your fellow experts are very gruff toward us dummer than you types when it comes to helping and especially points awarded.  I have had rude and absolutely unbelievable personal emails from individuals who want to argue over who had the most correct of incorrect information just to get points.  Unfortunately I like many others can only tell the taste of something by the bytes we get.
I admit your asking about if Adolbe was installed was a spark for me and I will reopen and give you your points.  I would ask you to please step back and take a look at what the Exchange looks like to some of us.  We who are not in the battle for points and these wonderful insignias, at times see it as a place to for "experts" to do whatever to get that magical level to be the first to get to 10,000,000 points and that wonderful badge.  While there are some who actually try to help us who struggle trying to figure out the impossible there are many of the "experts" who live and die for the points.  Of course if it weren't for the points that type may not get involved in helping us paying types.  It kind of reminds me of income tax credits for donations to charities.  If we didn't get the credit on our fed taxes would we really continue to contribute?  Some yes, maybe many no.
By the way, your approach to this is why I am reopening the problem and awarding the points not your knowledge.  I do understand there are no mind readers.  The dummer side of me asks if it is possible to realize there are many of us who do not have your intelligence with systems, associated applications and equipment and have no idea what you need to help us?  We just know it's broke.

Us who don't know and have to pay green for answers have to be good customers or we get black-balled.  I know from past experiences on EE.
