the folder "system volume information" of my external drive was overwriiten and i cannot see my files there

I'm using an external USB hard drive , i mistakenly copied a folder from hard drive to that USB drive .
the folder is called "system volume information "
now my hard drive name has changed to the same name as the hard drive where i copied the folder from
I also cannot see any of my folders there
how can i fix this problem and be anle to retrieve the real folder there

    You cant access hte drive as a drive letter any longer?

    If not go to start>run>compmgmt.msc>Disk Manager> and try and change the name of teh Volume, and reassign a new drive letter there...
