Is there such a thing as a RAID status viewer

Server 2003 - RAID Status Viewer  We have RAID 5 and I just want to check that alk is well with it - is there some kind of ultility that lets you view the status of it?  Thanks.

If you right click on My Computer, select properties and go to disk management yo can see the status of any software raid. if it is hardware raid you will need to use the manufacturers utilities.

                 RAID Monitoring software in CD which comes with your server is capable of doing this. Also 3rd party softwares like Active SMART can monitor the health status by using S.M.A.R.T technology.

you can do physical inspectio of the drives.If you have any fault drive then it would have a red light.Few servers beep if they have failed drive.All the major server brands like HP,DELL,IBM have monitoring software.As with HP you can view go HP Array configuration to see the status of the array.Or configur HP CMS server to remotely notify about any HDD failures.Similarly you dell and IBM remote monitoring s/w
