my phone does not appear to recognise its connected although the computer realises.  is there a setting on my phone to adjust? no obvious setting i can see or is it likely a problem with phone itself?
Acronis True Image 2019 just released!

Create a reliable backup. Make sure you always have dependable copies of your data so you can restore your entire system or individual files.

Is the data cable the same one that came with the phone (DKU-2 usb cable)? If not see if it is compatible with the 6235.

Is the Nokia Phone suite software th ecurrent version? You could check thru http://europe.nokia.com/link?cid=EDITORIAL_213855

For earlier smartphones, if we had the nokia pc suite and connected using the steps in the 'get connected' option in the Nokia PC Suite - the phone just connected.

Do you use the Nokia Audio Manager? or the Nokia PC Suite?

I bought the cable separately and have my doubts so will check that when next near a dealer. it is a dku-2 usb cable.
came with nokia phone suite disk with the phone and use Nokia PC Suite.
when i installed right at the start it did connect and recognise but didnt do all the functions, thats why i later upgraded and am sure i had deleted all previous aspects of PC suite.

What about the Nokia Audio Manager? Do you have it installed?

Is it possible for you to check the same cable/software on a friends pc?

My Nokia 6630 gets installed with a small app to enable connectivity thru PC Suite upon first connection and this app can be removed through the Application Manager which unfortunately your phones user guide does not refer to. However, the pc suite should be able to overwrite the e arlier file.
