system views for backup

how can I check where the backup ran sucessfully or not uisng system views in sql server 2005?

    Backup information can be found in msdb.dbo.backupset

    To verify that it ran successfully and the file is not corrupt what I do is run a RESTORE VERIFYONLY statement because even if the backup was successful it is possible that the media or file is corrupt.
