Removing Digital ID Acrobat 8

Having a problem removing a Digital Id from Adobe Acrobat 8. When I try to remove the digital id signature Acrobat gives a cryptic response about only being able to remove id that were created with Acrobat Reader 8 and above. The digital Id was orginaly a file but some how Acrobat 8 incorporates thmn into some other file in the program. The problem I have with this is the orginal file is no longer on the system but the signature ID is. I believe this to be a new feature in version 8 so the methods used for 7 and below do not seem to work so please don't post replies using those methods. this is also a register Digital ID, that seems to make a diffrence.

"The problem I have with this is the orginal file is no longer on the system but the signature ID is."

That is correct, the earlier versions did not stress the importance of the digital ID, but they used it.
Now that 8 enforces it fully, you are in the sam3e quandry that many other people are.

SOrry to say, if you don't have the earlier version that made the PDF, you will have to recereate it from scratch.  That should be not too hard, you can use the text select and graphics select of any Acrobat and copy paste those attributes to create a new file compatible with 8's requirements.
