Keyboard outputting wrong keys in Excel

Posted on 2007-07-27

When using Excel 2007 for Vista, pressing the keys gives me different characters than I expect.  I can solve the problem by quitting excel and re-starting, but it's annoying.  Has anybody experiences this?  Is there a fix?

Go to Control Panel » Clock, Language, and Region » Change keyboards.....

Check that you have the right keyboard as default. US, if you're using English and the $.

If that's OK, you could try renaming your book.xlt template to for instance oldbook.xlt, and let Excel create a new template.

Thanks for the info.  I seemed to have three input languages attached to my keyboard.  Since I have removed the other two, I don't seem to have the problem any more.
