Won`t Backup

Here is our issue, we are running Backup Exec. 10.1 And using an Iomega Rev Disk to Disk device.
I notice on the disk that it is backing up with 1 gig increments. And  our backup is over 46 Gig.
Yesterday the backup went fine! Tonight it is failing at 37 Gig. It is saying please insert over writable media. I did a quick erase and it says it is scratch media. I also did a quick erase and did a limited test backup which worked!  I am perplexed. On the backup properties it set to overwrite.

Are you running out of space on the disk?

I did  a quick erase and then it says scratch media. The office manager formated it in windows! Can that screw it up?
