I installed QLogic HBA 2400 card in SunFire V240.  I want to configure HBA card for SAN storage.  As soon as I plug in fibre cable from SAN I see error message "SNS scan failed .  assuming zero-entry result".  Someone please help me on how to setup this card for SAN  storage.

What type of SAN is it? Have you configured it?

I've seen this error once before when I connected a SAN to a server before configuring LUNs and logical volumes etc..

alextoft hit the nail on the head with this one. This is a new feature to be more standards based. It happens when you attach the FC cable to the SAN and there are no LUNS configured for it to receive. You should probably disconnect the cable until you are really ready for the system to receive a configured LUN from the storage array. Once you have the LUNs configured you can plug the cable back in and run cfgadm -al to see if the storage is visible and cfgadm -c configure <controller> to configure the devices and luxadm probe to see if you can see the devices that are being presented from the storage array (assuming you are using the Leadville drivers from Sun), otherwise you can use the SANSurfer software from Qlogic if you are using the Qlogic drivers.
