Make a Win2K drive

I just got a used computer and I want to reformat the drive and re-install the operating system. The system in the drive is Windows 2000 professional. There is no CD when I bought the computer. How do I make a CD so Windows will be on it and I can install it on a new Drive or the reformatted one>

In short: You cannot create an installer CD from an existing installation. What you however can do is - if you have a license sticker - call MS and ask for a replacement disk which you can get for a small fee. However, you might have to upgrade to XP, since W2k is not on retail any more.

Look for a \i386 folder on the disk. That could be the windows 2000 installation files. Then you could use nliteos to make a bootable win2k cd. Make sure you know the product key of your windows. You can find it out with SIW, and sometimes there may also be a sticker on the PC.
