display problems using 2.0 Gridview / Calendar controls on windows mobile 5 device / PDA

I have developed a system using 2005 for use on a windows mobile 5 PDA (symbol MC70) via GPRS, however i am finding that the gridview and the calendar controls do not display properly. On both, all the columns just appear as rows, one beneath the other.

However using my other PDA, a Dell Axim X51v using WLAN rather than GPRS these control show up ok.

Does anyone know why this would happen, or a possible solution/workaround.

I'm not sure if i understand your question. The user connects to the site via internet explorer on the windows mobile 5 device.

perhaps when hes using GPRS it thinks ita a WAP site.

    Accepted Solution

I found the solution to this by complete accident and it turned out to be something incredibly simple.

On the IE menu under view there are three options - One Column, Default and Desktop. If you have the 'One Column' setting, it does just that and puts everything into one column.

It would seem that the axim is defaulted to 'Default' where as the MC70 was defaulted to 'One Column'.
