DB2 Administration Server communication error

When I try to setup communications for the instance db2inst1 in db2cc, the following error has occured.

A DB2 Administration Server communication error has been detected.  Client system: "192.168.0.231". Server system
"192.168.0.231".
Explanation:
A DB2 Administration Server communication error has been detected.  Possible causes include the following:
1.    The DB2 Administration Server at the server system was shut down by the system administrator.
2.    The DB2 Administration Server at the server system was terminated due to an internal or system error.
3.    The DB2 Administration Server is not installed at the server system.
4.    The DB2 Administration Server has not been cataloged correctly at the client system.
5.    The communication subsystem at the client system or server system has not been configured orrectly, or has not been started successfully.
6.    A network error has caused the connection to go down.
7.    An internal error in the DB2 Administration Server caused the connection to go down.
User Response:
 Verify the following:
1.    The DB2 Administration Server has not been shut down.
2.    The DB2 Administration Server has not been terminated.
3.    The DB2 Administration Server has been installed at the server system.
4.    The remote DB2 Administration Server is cataloged properly on the client system.
5.    The communication subsystems on both client and server systems are configured and started up properly.
6.    The network is operating properly.
7.    Nothing to verify.
If the problem persists, consult with your network administrator
or contact IBM Support.

After that, I found that the DAS has not started, and I try to start it as the following commands

TEST@[/usr/opt/db2_08_01/das/bin]> db2admin start
SQL4401C  The DB2 Administration Server encountered an error during startup.
TEST@[/usr/opt/db2_08_01/das/bin]>

It runs for a long time and finally shown an error as stated above, I am a new user in AIX and DB2, how can I slove this problem, what is the possible problem I have to check and how?

Thanks for help

I realized this discussion occurred almost a year ago, but I am experiencing the same issue repoerted above and the abov e solution is not working.  I am getting the exact same message when I try to start the database instance from the control center.  When I try  to run "start admin" from the control center I get an error stating. "The Administration Server is not started start the Administration server and try the action again."  Which is a strange message to get when I am trying to start the Administration Server.  When I tried to locate the above specified file, a complete search of the hard drive revealed no such file and no such folder on the machine.  The Instance is located on the local machine.  Anyone any ideas?
