MS Exchange 2003 Server Mailbox Manager Query

We have MS Exchange Enterprise 2003.
We have setup the Server Mailbox manager to do weekly maintenance.
The emails we get contain the following details:

The Microsoft Exchange Server Mailbox Manager has completed processing mailboxes
Started at:      2007-07-29 00:14:54
Stopped at:      2007-07-29 00:20:25
Mailboxes processed:      181
Messages that would be moved or deleted:      4695
Size of messages that would be moved or deleted:      9284.45 MB

What does is mean the that messages that would be moved or deleted??
Does it not actually move or delete them?  The amouns seems to increase each week...

Looks like you're running it in "Report Only" mode. It's a tickbox. Check it out and get back to us.

is the mailbox manager running in a "generate report only" mode?

Hi,

This depends on what you have configured in the mailbox manager policy filter. It looks like you have a polciy that uses the Generate report only option. meaning that nothing should have been moved/deleted but this could be changed.

See "Using Mailbox Manager to Manage Mailbox Content" - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997037.aspx

Problems using Powershell and Active Directory?

Managing Active Directory does not always have to be complicated.  If you are spending more time trying instead of doing, then it's time to look at something else. For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why

Thee are the following 3 option under the mailbox management, when I click on properties of the server:

1.) Start Mailbox management process: Run at Midnight on Sunday
2.) Reporting: Send detailed report to administrator
3.) Administrator: username

Is there anyone else I need to look?
