Driver search utility?

Hi.
I recently nuked my OS and wondered..  Is there a better way of getting the latest set of drivers for my machine?
Is there a program out there which can scan your computer; and pose to you:
You have the following hardware, and here are the links to the latest drivers for it.

I want some good discussion/ideas, so equivilant to the amount of time this could save me; i'll post it as 500.

OS is windows 2000.

gtopala's SIW is a pretty good utility, or everest. Sometimes you need to have at least the chipset drivers installed for your mainboard to get good results, sometimes the results are good without it. Try them.

I use sisoft sandra...  But thats not what i'm talking about..
I'm talking about something that can look at yourhardware, without need for drivers already installed, and provide locations for latest drivers, or even download them for you.

Its theoretically possible..  I have to believe its been done by some enterprising body out in cyberspace..

Try SIW, it isn't perfect, but none are. You won't be able to get a 100% info. You could also checkout driver detective, but I don't think that is free.
