Event Log Filtering Not Working

When I set the filters on the Security category in our 2003 server Event Log to show only Warnings and Errors it works fine, but as soon as I shut down the Event Log and re-open it, it has gone back to showing all events.

How can I set it to only show Wanrings and Errors for all the sections of the Event Log.

    Accepted Solution

    Make a "custom" Event viewer.
From the start run button, type MMC enter, select File, Add/Remove Snapins, Add button, select events viewer, local computer, set filter, save as "filtered-events.msc"

Done should be able to copy to other machines as needed.
