Microsoft Word Screen Maximize Button Strange Operation

While click on the maximize button the screen does not maximize fully, it actually expands to half of the screen.  Yes, I am using the appropriate button.  I have attempted to restart the program, and restart the computer.  This issue has happened before but seems to resolve itself.  Not a huge issue because the screen can still be manually expanded to screen width.  Is there any way to fix this issue manually without anything drastic?

Yes, this should be an easy fix for you.  Give this a try:

Really, you just need step 2 (close Word first, obviously).  If that doesn't work, then do step 5 also.
