PST file size in Outlook 2003

Hi Experts,

I'm using MS Outlook 2003 on windows XP. The problem I'm having at the moment that every time the PST files reaches 2GB its starts giving the maximum size error and as soon as it reaached this limits it starts deleting all the new incomming messages or stops send/recieve. When I searched on Google I found the folllowing link to configure the size of PST file.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832925
there is no OFFICE option under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft and also there is no PST option under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\.
I did more searching the found the by default the outlook 2003 gives 20GB to the PST file, so cant see the reason why it start giving error every time it reaches 2GB.

Pls see if you can help.

create a new pst.  you never want a pst to be greater then 2GB, because it will start getting corrupt.

Multiple psts are much better/safer than one huge one.

hope this helps.

In order to take advantage of the new 20GB limit you need to create pst file from Outlook 2003. If you are using a pst file created from a previous version of outlook, then it won't work. Using a pst file created using older version of Outlook will have the same 2 GB limit.

Also to be able to use the 20GB limit your messages need to be saved in unicode format (which is the default in Outlook 2003) ...
This option is set under Tools ---->Options---->Other .....

Greetings Impex !

You may have transfer an old PST file from Outlook 2002 or earlier.  The earlier PST format has a limit of 2 GB.  Outlook PST format has limit of about 20 GB.

Create a new PST file.in Outlook 2003 format.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829971

Then drag all the emails and contacts addresses to the new PST file.
