Vista Ultimate, Print Spooler Errors

I have just gone from Windows XP to Windows Vista Ultimate (not an upgrade).  I installed some drivers that weren't Vista compatible, and it was for a couple of networked, Xerox copiers.  Now, I get a "spooler subsystem app stopped working and was closed" error.  Also, when I try to remove the printer, the spooler service stops, and I get this error:  "Printer cannot be removed.  Operation could not be completed (error 0x000006be)."

I've tried booting into safe mode to remove the printer, but I can't start the print spooler service to start.  I've downloaded the FieryPrinterDeleteUtility.  This doesn't work either.  Also, I don't have a System Restore point that goes back far enough to undo this mess.

Any suggestions other than another clean install?

Scan your disk for a file named injlib.dll. This is a long shot but this file is known to cause some issues with XP where it stops the spooler constantly. Might be the same with vista. If you do have it, rename it.

I found a solution.  I went to C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3 and manually deleted the related drivers then went through the registry and deleted every instance of that particular printer name.  I rebooted and have been able to print to other printers and no spooler errors.

    Thanks for your help!
