Automatically create a grahpical PowerPoint using Access and/or Excel (Examples included)

I am attempting to make a basic high level calendar presentation, however, its contents change and I would like to automatically create the presentation in PowerPoint by either Excel or Access. Here is the raw data and the final output presentation I am looking to create:

Excel Spreadsheet (Can be an access table): http://home.comcast.net/~furious1smitul/Pictures/Calendar_Data.xls

Presentation Slide: http://home.comcast.net/~furious1smitul/Pictures/Calendar.JPG

I have some programming background but mainly in PHP and Web languages, therefore, I am not sure how to approach this or if it is even possible using Access and/or Excel.

Anyone done something as complex (at least I believe it is complex) before and can help me?

Here's some code examples (you'll want to use Visual Basic):
Excel:

You can use a table for your calendar in PowerPoint.
Access:
