remove password protection  from excel and word documents

i am the network administrator of a cpmpany where MY Data Server is win2003 server. some users are leaving the company but still leaving some files  that they wrote mainly excel and word protected by a password on this sever.i need to open theses documents for other employees .how can i open theses documents and removbe the security???

    I might be mistaken, but I think I remember reading somewhere on this site that experts are not allowed to give information or instruction to questions regarding the removal or getting past of any security or password. My apologies if this has been changed or I am wrong, check with an EE administrator.
