HP Laserjet 4650 has blue vertical streak when print

Whenever I print out anything, there will be a vertical blue color streak running across from the top to bottom.  I tried cleaning a bit but it is still there.  Anyone know how to resolve it?  Thank you.

It sounds like a problem with the toner cartridge or transfer unit - you might want to take a look at this website for some generic and specific help in troubleshooting the unit:

http://www.printertechs.com/tech/print-defects/print-defects-index.php

also, the HP software has a troubleshooting table that might be able to help.

Unfortunately, newer laser printers incorporate many of the formerly cleanable/repairable components (such as corona wires) in the transfer units and toner cartridges, which are disposable/recyclable components, so troubleshooting turns into an expensive parts-swapping activity.

Have you recently replaced one of the toner cartridges?

Although I hate to say it, the brand-name carts are usually better than the aftermarket units - I have seen many problems go away when brand-name components replaced less expensive 'equivalents.'
