In my Crystal Reports, I want to add a formula field - but I don't want it to be visible in the report itself, I want it to be visible only when I export to Excel.

Is this possible?

    Accepted Solution

If you suppress it in CR it will not be exported.
You can set the font to white on white in CR and it will then get exported but in XL you will have to reformat it to make it visible.

Change you page layout from Portrait to Landscape or from Letter to 11x17, so that you have a larger area to layout your fields.  Place the hidden field and its label off to the right of where your regular page margin will be.  Then change your layout back.  The fields will float out there in oblivion unseen, until you export to Excel.  Voila.
