reinstall a defualt gadget in Vista

I have a client with Windows Vista Home, He has right clicked on the "clock gadget" ( the defualt one) and then opened the gadgets window, the one that shows all of the defualt gadgets in Windows. He then Right clicked on the clock and uninstalled it.
He wants it back, and i can not figure out how to reinstall the default clock gadget.

Help!!! LOL

Hi Mike

As far as I know these have .gadget extension and are dropped into the
%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Sidebar\Gadgets subfolder...

Well looking on your suggestion I found nothing in that folder, but it did lead me to the Program Files folder/widows sidebar/gadgets.

there is a list of gadgets in there, that look like the defaults.
I'm going to email the clock gadget to my client and then put it into that folder and see if we can then use it.

I'll let you know later today.

checked the Program Files Folder and it already had the clock gadget, yet When you right click the sidebar that clcok is not available.

I copied the file from another machine but that did not help

Hi

If you want to install a gedget there seemsto be a simple instruction for it:
1.  Click the link above to download the gadget. 2.  Save the file to your computer and double click it. 3.  Agree to install the gadget. 4.  The gadget will appear on your Vista Sidebar.

For your problem, go to Control Panel open Windows Sidebar Properties and select restore Windows installed gadgets

All the best

to restore the clock gadget
