if you type localhost or the IP of the computer, does it display the page?
if you can bring it up using one of the above methods, i believe this is a DNS issue.

If we type in http://localhost or the IP address of the computer it displays the home page.

If you type in www.our-domain-name.com it goes to the router.

How would we go about changing DNS settings?

What are you using for DNS resolution??  If you are using internal DNS make sure that it points to the address of your server.  If you are using your router for DNS then it is going to look to whatever it has programed into it.  If that is an external DNS server then more then likely it is being provided your router's external address and that is why you are seeing the result.

We are using our router as the DNS

then you need to configure your router's DNS to correctly point to the computer hosting your website for www.our-domain-name.com

are people outside your network able to access www.our-domain-name.com?
