V245 and V225 are based on US-IIIi chips (holds up to 2)
V490 is based on either US-IV or US-IV chip (holds up to 4)

V245 and V215 can only hold up to 16GB
V490 can hold up to 64GB

V215 can hold up to 2 SAS disks
V245 can hold up to 4 SAS disks
    V490 can hold up to 2 FCAL disks (4 @ 33MHz and 2 @ 33/66MHz)

    V215 has 1 PCI-E and 1 PCI-X slots
    V245 has 2 PCI-E and 2 PCI-X slots
    V490 has 6 PCI slots  (4 @ 33MHz and 2 @ 33/66MHz)

V215 and V245 are generally more focused towards small to medium web, identity, application tier type stuff.  QA, Development labs are well.

V490 is generally geared toward heavier CPU core requirements.  Medium to Large application tier, identity, DB type stuff.
