how to create database layer in asp.net2.0

i am looking for a good examples of creating database layer in 2.0 with out using any wizards.
i need an example class where all the database related function are written

    Microsoft route :

    A simple dal (data acces layer)
    See for more information

    Put all your sql into a new class fe:
    public myClass
     public function InserVehicleData(FirstField as string, SecondField as string)
     end function

    In your form you can do the following:

    dim ClassToCall as new myClass
