shim?

i've a top navigation - and i've a flyover using simple DIV tags with the help of css.

right now this flyover is not going top of active x components i know why. but i need to make the menu to overlay and come front on activex components like applets and flash. i know about chrome menus and shim (??) but the pbm is how do i fit just my flyover in this situation.

in my html its something like this:-

<li>menu1</li> -- top level menu i've an image here

and the flyover tag like this

<div id='flymenu'>
<ul><li>some1</li>
<li>some2</li>
</ul>
</div>

any help is greatly appreciated. thanks for your time.

Is your flyover in an absolutely positioned  and ID'd div of its own? If not, it needs to be.You then set the shim iframes width,height,top,left css attributes to match those of the flyover div, making sure the z-index of the flyover div is 1 more then the z-index of the shim. Then just set the display attribute for each to "block" or "inline", instead of "none", and you should be ready to go. Let me know if you need code, and I'll gladly post some.

BTW - as you know, the z-index of the shim has to be higher than the z-index of the objects you are overlaying.
