An error has occurred during report processing. Cannot create a connection to data source

Iam using .NET reportViewer control to display the report in Web Application. I created a Reports project and deployed it on the Report Server.
My Application talks to the Oracle as well as SQL-Server database to display the data in reports. The reports which talk to SQL-server works fine but the reports deployed on SQL-Server which pulls the data from remote Oracle Server throws an error. Below is the error:-
An error has occurred during report processing.
Cannot create a connection to data source <>
For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors

What is the type of connections you use from your application to the Oracle Server ? ODBC, JDBC, Orcale client or something else ?

If using Oracle client just try to run tnsping command to check if your db server can be reached from your appl server.

If using ODBC or JDBC, there  might be an error in defining the connection.

Or else (but unlikely to happen), your oracle db server was down while your app server try to contact it.
