Autorepsonder for Outlook 2k7 in Exchange 2k3 for addtional email account

I'm using outlook 2k7 with exchange 2k3. I have an email account of an employee who is no longer with the company in my outlook. I wan to have an autoreply sent out when an email arrives on that specific account but don't want it to show it coming from my email account. I have tried setting up a rule in which it has the server reply using... and tried having it reply using a specified template. Both of these are not automatically sending the autoresponse unless I run the rule. In addition, they are not going to external recipients.

To configure a rule like that you need to configure Outlook so that the account is primary and then set the rule.

However, auto replies are very dangerous and I would not recommend their use.

Assuming you have administrative privileges: You create a profile with the former employee's account, start Outlook, select this profile and edit the message for autoreply. Now, when someone sends him/her an email he will get the message you composed, coming from his address. Note that the message is only sent once to each sender.

Thank you both for your solutions. We don't send out auto replies externally only internal and by now everyone knows of the personnel change so this is a dead issue. Thanx.
