I have a SQL database that have many tables (10-15), few of the tables have the records 200-500, 000
rows.  with cluster index - unique.

Recently, we encountered error code 605 (hard failure) on 1 or 2 of the table (never the same one), we can drop the table, recreate the table, and reload the data. create the index, it will runs well.

We encountered another issues today (error code 823).  and when we do an query (any query), the table will get timeout.

I tried to drop the table, it also get the time out.

what I should do?

what are the real root cause of this?   do you know any way to prevent it from happen>

How can I 'drop' the table, I know it is 'bad'?   the SQL database is not responding.  - get time out.

If I can drop it, I can recreate it with empty row then I can reload the data.

Please help

Try running DBCC CHECKDB on the database in question.

Listed in the link are also DBCC repair procedures.
