Outlook 2007 suddenly freezing up and not responding

I have a client who is suddenly having problems with Outlook 2007 (After a few changes we made). OL2007 is starting and stopping, flashing "Not Responding" at the top of the screen.

P.S. Internet and all other programs function properly.

I tried to undo all changes made:
- Reset MSCONFIG so that all startup programs ran (I had disabled some clearly unnessesary programs, to try to speed up her laptop performance)
- Uninstalled Activesync (which was just installed in order to set up sync with smartphone. We were able to get the phone to sync successfully after opening ports in the firewall)

OL2007 continued to have the problems. So next we:
-Ran Office Diagnostics. It found no problems or errors
-Did a system restore to the point prior to all my changes. This did not resolve the issue.

My best guess is that it's something related to the sync that took place between the Smartphone and Outlook, since the updates to the PST would be the only changed variable at this point. However, I ran SCANPST and even though it found and fixed errors, the problem was not resolved.

Try taking the PST off the outlook profile to see if its whats causing problems. START > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL > MAIL > DATA FILES

Remove the Data files and see if outlook starts.

I tried that -- but in my case, outlook freezes (100% of the time) when I try to go to Tools->Trust Center (i.e.: I never get to even get to the Add-Ins part because the system freezes.
For other users experiencing freeze in Trust Center:
Uninstall Outlook update KB946983
I was running in to multiple issues on Outlook 2007.  Outlook would not close via the close button, or file exit.  If a reminder popped up, I could not close the window.  If I tried to access the Trust center, the window would open, but I would not be able to access anything.  Uninstalling KB946983 did indeed fix all my issues.  Thanks so much!!
ITunes installs an add-in into Outlook in order to access the calendar and contacts for syncing with Iphone, I believe.
Right Click the Outlook icon on the taskbar notification area. Choose Cancel server request. If outlook opens correctly then this may be some mailbox related issue.
I had a weird solution for Outlook. I gave the customer I had temp admins and the calendar issue was resolved. The customer logged back in without admins and everything was fine. I found that weird.
