I have a user mail account in AD that now needs to be a global distribution group mail account, with new users added to that group. what is the best way to do this? Was thinking delete the user account, create a new Global Dist. group with that mail id, then restore old mail from backup to new account. Then add new users.

    Accepted Solution

IMHO this is the only way. Don't forget to mail-enable the Distribution Group.

If using Exchange you can reconnect the old mailbox to the new account.

Although there is other way such as email forwarding, I believe the method you specified is the easiest one.
