filevault issues with OS X Server?

I am about to set up Mac Os X server 10.4.10 on a tower that will double as a workstation. I did this once with Panther server and File vault corrupted the whole instalation necessitating a reload. It was constantly asking to reclaim space and then would take its own sweet time if you let it.  Have these problems been fixed in Tiger? Is there any downside to using file vault on a server period? I want to protect my home files just in case a user finds a security whole to climb up  into as I am a novice admin.

G'day,

You're looking for trouble running filevault on Mac OS server. What services are you running of the server?
I suppose if you have either configuration files or hosted files of your account and the machine is not logged on, you'll need to log on to allow the server access those files. So you might problems with server services.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Arthur

Thanks for the confirmation. My gut was telling me that it would be a bad idea. I will just encrypt my documents folder with an aftermarket app.
